Web Seminar

Cranston, RI (10/17/2009) - Cranston Council was the setting for the State Council website training seminar conducted by the Webmaster, Jerry Scannell. The State Deputy, Steven Ciolfi, has resolved that the State Council would dramatically reduce paper communications and use the Rhode Island State Council website, www.kofcri.org, as the primary tool to dispense information about the workings of the Order in the jurisdiction. The Webmaster has worked tirelessly to not only build the infrastructure to hold and disseminate information, but also to reach out to each council to be sure at least one person can access the site and list council information for the edification of all councils. It has been several years since I last attended a seminar, and I was impressed with how much has changed. However Jerry still finds a way to deliver technical information in a fun, informative and easy-to- understand format. Class participants have varying degrees of computer savvy, yet Jerry is able to get everyone up to speed quickly. The impressive list of topics covered include:

All in attendance agreed that they has a good understanding of the website and its use as a powerful tool to promote their council activities and tell their council’s story. If your council has not yet appointed a web person responsible for website administration, please do so as soon as possible. Create mailing lists, load pictures of your events, tell your story.
