My Brother Knights, as we celebrate Veteran's Day, let us not forget the sacrifices our service personal have made and continue to make to defend our freedom. Freedom is not free, and many have given their lives to defend our liberties. As Knights of Columbus let us keep in our prayers our service men and women, both past and present, who through their sacrifices enable us to pursue "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
In November we also celebrate Thanksgiving Day, our day to remember the many graces God has bestowed on us and our nation. These are difficult times and many would have us believe there is no God, that all this happened by chance. Again our Catholic values, values we recognize as Knights of Columbus to believe in an all knowing and loving God, and lead us to put our trust and "one nation under God."
My wife, Margie, and I extend our greetings for a Blessed Thanksgiving Day to you and your families.
Fraternally yours,
John Marcello, State Secretary
