My Brother Knights, one-third of the 2009-2010 Columbian Year is now behind us. While much has been accomplished, there is still much more to do. Often, in years past, we as Knights have slowed our membership and activities effort through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays as we focus on the trappings of the seasons. Please resist this trend. During the coming weeks we will see attendance at Mass swell to capacity with Catholic families attempting to be more involved with their faith. This creates the perfect opportunity to plan an event that benefits a favorite charity and involve your fellowparishioners. This is also a wonderful time to extend the “experience of a lifetime” to an eligible Catholic man by becoming a Knight of Columbus. Just ask!
My report for the Rhode Island State Council Meeting held at Pascoag Council 383 on October 23 is as follows: 47 Brothers in attendance, representing 23 councils. These numbers include 7 District Deputies and 10 Grand Knights. Certainly we can improve on these numbers for the November State Meeting. Please plan to attend.
Lee Ann and I offer all our Brother Knights and their families our prayers and best wishes for the important Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving Day holidays.
Vivat Jesus!
Michael Benson, State Warden
